One thing that has always been important to our school is connection, after all, Gesher is the Hebrew word for bridge. The interpersonal connections that exist between our families, between our students and teachers and between our teachers and parents have always been a source of pride and joy for our community. Over the past 23 months, our opportunities to connect have been dramatically affected by the layered precautions we have taken to keep our community safe from COVID-19. While we have adjusted and adapted by having all-school Kabbalat Shabbats and other events outdoors, we all recognize that the connections that we all shared pre-COVID when we welcomed our parents into the building for Back to School night, siyumim, chagim, and as classroom visitors and volunteers simply cannot be replicated via Zoom or under a tent. We miss you! We yearn to bring you back into our building and to have the opportunity to connect more personally with each of you. We know you yearn for that too.
In that spirit, we wish to invite you to join us for Gesher’s Grown-Up Gathering! During this parent-only evening event, we are excited to invite you into the building to spend time in the classrooms and connect with us, and with each other. In addition to having the opportunity to visit your child or children’s classrooms and spending time with their current classroom teachers and specialist teachers, we also hope you will take the opportunity to introduce yourself to your child’s future teachers and get a glimpse of the excitement that lies ahead in their next grade!
