Tuition and Fees

We are committed to giving our students the tools they need to succeed throughout their journey at Gesher and beyond. Our integrated General and Judaic Studies curriculum is designed to foster critical thinking and analysis and ensure that each student reaches their full potential. For most families, investing in a Jewish day school education requires careful financial planning. We are here to answer any questions you have about tuition and/or the financial aid process. Please reach out to Colleen Richardson(crichardson@gesher-jds.org), Director of HR and Finance for specific questions around Tuition Assistance.

Tuition Assistance

Gesher Jewish Day School believes that a Jewish education is essential for nurturing the values, traditions, and community bonds that shape our students’ futures. We are committed to making this education accessible and affordable to all families, ensuring that financial circumstances do not limit the opportunity for a transformative Jewish experience.

A fundamental goal of Gesher is to provide all families in our community the opportunity to send their children to Gesher through graduation. Through our Tuition Assistance Program, we support socio-economic diversity by offering need-based awards that aim to cover the gap between a family’s resources and the cost of education. For the 2024-25 school year, Gesher distributed nearly $1.31 million in tuition assistance to about 56% of our families. While we ask all parents to contribute toward tuition to the extent they can, we encourage any family in need to apply for assistance—many families are surprised by the depth of our program and the number of families we assist.

How to Apply for Tuition Assistance

The Gesher Tuition Assistance program is designed to make a jewish education possible for all families based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of funds. Our goal is to make the Tuition Assistance application process as easy as possible for your family. Tuition Assistance applications are due January 31, 2025 for best consideration.

Will I Qualify for Tuition Assistance?

We consider each family’s unique financial situation by reviewing factors such as:

  • Income: All household income sources (current and past years’ W-2s required).
  • Family Size: Number of dependents supported.
  • Cost of Living: Local living expenses.
  • Assets & Liabilities: Savings, debts, and significant assets.
  • Essential Expenses: Medical, educational, and special family needs.

Applicants must also submit their 2024 and 2023 W-2s and their 2023 1040 tax return, including all schedules, to ensure a comprehensive review.

Duration and Commitment

Families planning to apply are required to submit a new financial aid application yearly to ensure that awards are based on current circumstances. To help families estimate typical financial aid awards, the table below provides general ranges based on Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). This information serves as a guideline, while final awards reflect a comprehensive assessment of each family’s financial needs.
